Hsiang Yun Temple Invited to Attend iACT Hope Awards Ceremony

On the evening of April 28, Hsiang Yun Temple’s Abbot Venerable Jue Ji, Venerable Yi Song, BLIA outreach program lead Joshua Clark, and the Hsiang Yun Temple band were invited to attend the "2026 Hope Awards Ceremony," hosted by the Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT) at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. The event theme was “The Beauty of Faith.”

Before the dinner, the Hsiang Yun Temple band performed over ten English Buddhist songs to open the event. The pre-dinner blessing was then led by Venerable Jue Ji and Joshua Clark, who recited “A Prayer for World Peace” by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, Founder of Fo Guang Shan, resonating deeply with attendees. The event was hosted by Judy Maggio, who also read poetry by Mike Blair, highlighting multiple charitable achievements of iACT.

This year’s “Hope Awards” recognized Mike Blair and the Austin Bahá’í community. Beneficiary Cynthia Hernandez shared her heartfelt experience of improving her living environment through a home repair program. The fundraising segment, hosted by TiWanna Kenney, received an enthusiastic response. The evening concluded with a performance by singer Christine Albert, bringing the event to a successful and celebratory close.
