Brushstrokes Carry the Spring Spirit: Fo Guang People Promote Chinese Culture at Indeed

On March 2, Austin Fo Guang Association supervisor Qiu Jinzhang, Chinese division president Chen Rui, and member Yang Haiping were invited by Indeed to host a Chinese calligraphy experience for employees during their lunch break. Six employees enthusiastically participated in the activity.

During the event, Supervisor Qiu introduced calligraphy techniques, including how to hold the brush and the different styles of calligraphy, and explained the auspicious meanings of characters such as "春" (Spring) and "福" (Fortune). The participants then practiced writing, and the atmosphere was focused and joyful. Two of the participants even wrote impressive versions of "春" and "平安" (Peace), with remarkable results.

The event also introduced the diverse activities of the Fo Guang Association and the Xiangyun Temple, such as English Dharma services, Tai Chi, and martial arts classes. Supervisor Qiu demonstrated Tai Chi, explaining that it shares the same calming effect on the body and mind as calligraphy. The event concluded with the presentation of New Year calendars with the Heart Sutra, marking a perfect ending to the activity.
