Xiangyun Temple Holds Buddha Image Enshrinement and House Blessing Ceremony for Dr. Wu Qi-Lan

On the morning of February 9, Venerable Jueji, Supervisor of Fo Guang Shan Xiangyun Temple, led three monastics to the new residence of Dr. Wu Qi-Lan to conduct a Buddha image enshrinement and house blessing ceremony. Ms. Chen Rui, President of the BLIA Austin Chinese Subchapter, accompanied the group. Dr. Wu, his spouse, and their twin son and daughter participated in the ceremony, which was dignified and warm.

The Wu family had recently invited statues of Medicine Buddha (Bhaisajyaguru) and Sunlight Bodhisattva into their home, vowing to follow the great vows of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to illuminate and benefit all beings. The monastics chanted sutras and offered blessings, and presented the family with a copy of Venerable Master Hsing Yun's *Humanistic Buddhism: Passing on the Torch* and calligraphy scrolls reading "Harmony and Coexistence" and "Success Swift Achieved," wishing the entire family peace, safety, and growth in blessings and wisdom.

Dr. Wu Qi-Lan is a devout member of Xiangyun Temple and serves as a temple consultant. He has long shared his professional expertise by teaching courses at the temple such as "Living with Mindfulness," promoting physical and mental well-being. Those in attendance admired the elegant and dignified environment of the home, remarking that a blessed place is fit for virtuous people, and offered their wishes for the family's continued practice and steadfast faith.
