Completion Ceremony of the 7th Term of Fo Guang Austin Academy

The completion ceremony for the 7th term of the Fo Guang Austin Academy was solemnly held on the morning of January 11, 2026, at Xiang Yun Temple. More than 50 students and guests attended, creating a warm and dignified atmosphere.

In her address, Venerable Jueji, President of the Academy, noted that the resumption of enrollment after the pandemic was a rare and precious opportunity. She encouraged students to cherish their learning journey, continuously cultivate themselves through the integration of Buddhist practice and structured coursework, and carry forward Venerable Master Hsing Yun's vision of nurturing talent through education and promoting lifelong learning. She also expressed gratitude to Vice President Venerable Yongjia and Academic Affairs Director He Biyu for their dedication in ensuring the smooth operation of academy affairs and curriculum development.

In addition to its Chinese-language courses, this term introduced an English-language academy and a youth volunteer training program, further advancing the localization and integration of Buddhism into daily life. During the sharing session, local student Derrick reflected on how group practice, book clubs, and volunteer service deepened his understanding and application of the Dharma. Youth member Alex expressed gratitude for the guidance of the monastics and the support of his family. Both long-serving and newly joined volunteers also shared their experiences of personal growth through study and daily practice.
