Austin Xiang Yun Temple Thanksgiving Luncheon Compassion and Friendship Grow Through Sharing

Reported by Hai Pei, Humanistic Buddhism News, Austin, USA

On December 25, 2025, Austin Xiang Yun Temple hosted a Thanksgiving luncheon, inviting more than 30 local and international community members to gather together. Everyone spent the holiday in an atmosphere filled with friendship, festive joy, and warmth.

This Thanksgiving luncheon was carefully prepared by the Indian American Tyagi family, who expressed their gratitude to the temple monastics and the community for their care and guidance over the past year. The sense of acceptance and warmth they felt on their first visit, which became the motivation for today's giving back, truly reflects Venerable Master Hsing Yun's teaching: "Give others joy, give others confidence, give others hope, and give others convenience."

This Thanksgiving luncheon not only offered a wonderful meal to share, but also embodied Fo Guang Shan's Humanistic Buddhism spirit. It showcased the beauty of cross-cultural exchange, allowing everyone to experience true compassion and friendship that arises from understanding and mutual respect.
