Austin Fo Guang Youth Group II Brings Year-End Warmth to Fire and Police Departments

On the afternoon of December 20, eight members of Austin Fo Guang Youth Group II, accompanied by Supervisor Chiu Chin-Chang and association officers, visited Fire Station 31 and the Rollingwood Police Department with Christmas gifts to extend holiday greetings and heartfelt appreciation to frontline personnel who safeguard community safety. This tradition of reaching out to community service units during major holidays has been a long-standing and cherished practice of the Austin Fo Guang community.

At the fire station, firefighters warmly introduced their fire engines, rescue equipment, and water-rescue gear, and invited the youth to climb aboard a fire truck for a firsthand experience, offering deeper insight into the realities of firefighting. The group then proceeded to the police department, where officers shared stories from their daily work in maintaining public safety and presented commemorative police badges in return, symbolizing mutual friendship and support.

Beyond enhancing the youth's understanding of the vital roles played by firefighters and police officers, the visit embodied the Fo Guang spirit of gratitude, giving back, and caring for society—infusing the year-end season with warmth and positive energy.
