The 2025 North American Buddhist Examination was held from December 13 to 14, beginning simultaneously at 3:00 p.m. (U.S. Central Time). The Austin Chapter of the Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) responded enthusiastically, with a total of 38 Fo Guang members registered to participate. Participants ranged in age from 5 to 82, presenting a heartwarming scene of children, youth, adults, and seniors studying Buddhism together.

Through the examination, participants deepened their understanding of Buddhist teachings, strengthened their faith, and put into practice the spirit of "delving deeply into the sutras so that wisdom may be as vast as the ocean."

Several officers and members shared that continued participation in the Buddhist Examination serves as a valuable reminder to review what they have learned, renew their understanding, and apply the Dharma in daily life, thereby reconnecting with the original aspiration behind the founding of BLIA. This year, 11 local non-Chinese participants and multiple families also took part. Members from the English-language division, the Youth Group, and the Children's Group all participated actively, demonstrating the results of shared learning and collective practice.

Venerable Master Hsing Yun emphasized that the Buddhist Examination is an opportunity to reflect on one's understanding of the Dharma and the practice of moral conduct. Through their concrete actions, Austin Fo Guang members transcended boundaries of age and ethnicity, strengthened their inner spiritual power, and embodied Humanistic Buddhism in everyday life.
