2026 New Board Member and Chapter Officer Meeting Concludes Warmly and Successfully

Reported by Zhou Li, Human World News, Austin

On November 15, Hsiang Yun Temple held the first meeting for the 2026 new board member candidates and chapter officers. A total of 26 committee members and officers from both the Chinese and English-speaking chapters attended. The atmosphere was warm and heartfelt, reflecting Fo Guang members’ shared vision of community service and public benefit. Venerable Jue Ji expressed gratitude for everyone’s long-term support and encouraged the new team to continue the bodhisattva path with wisdom and compassion.

Lily, the 2026 chairperson candidate, expressed her appreciation on behalf of all members, emphasizing that Hsiang Yun Temple allows the community to practice the Dharma through learning, cultivation, and service. She shared messages printed on a bookmark—such as “Dream More” and “Complain Less”—symbolizing Fo Guang members’ continuous self-improvement and altruistic spirit. The phrase “Work Less” refers to improving efficiency through better delegation and modernized workflows, enabling service to be more joyful and energetic.

New board candidates proposed future directions, including: deepening understanding of member and community needs; simplifying administrative processes to improve transparency; strengthening collaboration between chapters to build a more systematic structure; and designing innovative activities that help the temple become more welcoming to families and youth.

During the meeting, each officer introduced themselves and shared their intentions and aspirations. From long-standing members to new volunteers, everyone expressed passion and dedication. With compassion and harmony as the foundation, all look forward to creating a bright and meaningful 2026 together.
