Vietnamese Devotees from Houston Visit Xiang Yun Temple in Autumn, Filled with Dharma Joy
Written by Hsiu
On September 14, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., more than fifty Vietnamese Buddhist devotees from Houston, led by lay devotee Tam Hue, arrived at Xiang Yun Temple by chartered bus to pay homage to the Buddha.
Most members of the group were local community residents. Some had previously visited during Lunar New Year activities with temple monastics and therefore held a special connection to Xiang Yun Temple. Although the resident Dharma masters were away on this occasion, volunteer Hui-Min Weng coordinated the reception. The visitors were divided into two groups, guided separately by Dharma brothers Cheng Hua-Cheng and Mei-Ling Ho, who offered detailed introductions to the temple grounds and halls. Volunteers in the Main Shrine and Dripping Water Café also warmly welcomed the guests and led them in paying respects to the Triple Gem.
The devotees expressed that this was their first time visiting the temple during autumn. The new experience was filled with Dharma joy, and they were deeply touched by the solemn and serene atmosphere of the monastery. Before departing, many voiced their heartfelt anticipation of returning again in the future.
