Director Hsiao Yi-Fang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Visits Xiang Yun Temple in Austin

On August 21, 2025, Director Hsiao Yi-Fang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston and Director Wang Ying-Rong of the Houston Overseas Community Affairs Center paid their first visit to Xiang Yun Temple in Austin. They were warmly received by Elaine, Supervisor of the Fo Guang Association, and committee member Lily. Their visit coincided with the Liang Huang Dharma Service, during which the temple was filled with solemn and serene chanting.

Venerable Jueji, the temple’s supervisor, introduced the history and vision of the temple, and shared Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s guiding philosophy of “promoting Buddhism through culture and fostering talent through education.” He emphasized the temple’s efforts and achievements in cultural promotion, education, and community integration.

The distinguished guests toured the temple’s facilities, highly praising Xiang Yun Temple’s contributions to cultural education and community service, and expressed hopes for further cooperation in the future. Director Hsiao and Director Wang admired the temple’s serene and elegant atmosphere, describing it as “a pure land within the city.” During the Dharma service, they also had cordial exchanges with Venerables Huiren and Yongning.

This visit deepened mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for working together to bring greater benefit to society in the future.
