Mobile Visa Service

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston (TECO), realized that after their Mobile Vi-sa Service on April 24, the demand from Taiwanese nationals in Austin was still high. To meet that demand, a second day of service was held on Saturday May 15. The Supervisor, Mr. Renjie He, and Vice-consul Zhiwen Ke along with Ms. YiFun Chen, Director of Overseas Taiwanese Cul-ture and Education Center, came to Xiang Yun Temple to handle the application of Overseas Taiwanese Card.

The Visa Mobile Service ran from 9am to 2pm, three hours longer than originally scheduled. More than 70 documents were processed, an unusually high amount. Despite the long hours of non-stop service, the TECO officers even delayed closing time to wait for an applicant who was rushing on the way. They deserved a thumbs up!

Xiang Yun Temple not only provided volunteers to help out the event, but also distributed fresh veggie steamed buns as well as bottled water to the waiting crowd. It also prepared lunch boxes for the officers. The service, food and water were deeply appreciated by all at-tendees. At the end, Venerable Jue Ji and temple volunteers took a group picture with officers to close out the meaningful event.
