Water Repentance Dharma Service

April 4, Ching Ming Festival is a day Chinese people pay respect to their deceased ancestors and loved ones. Due to the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, the annual "Filial Piety Ching Ming Dharma Service" at Xiang Yun Temple took place online. The worship, "Compassion Samadhi Water Repentance", lasted the entire day. The main shrine was grandly and solemnly decorated. Prayer was offered not only for ancestors, but also for the victims who died in the recent derailed Taiwan Taroko Gorge train 408; sincere wish for them to attain Pureland Buddhahood. In her discourse, Venerable Jue Ji, in addition to explaining the purpose of the "Water Repentance", also emphasized the importance of confession is "repentance." She advised devotees to visualize while reciting the text during confession; in daily life, strive to eradicate evil thoughts and to cultivate goodness, blessings, and wisdom.
